Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) – JFDA, 2023
The Pharmaceutical Research Center (PRC-ZU) has been certified by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) for compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards since 2023. This certification ensures the quality, integrity, and reliability of non-clinical safety studies by regulating laboratory procedures, documentation, and ethical conduct in alignment with international guidelines.
ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation – JAS-I, 2025
In 2025, PRC-ZU achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from JAS-I, the international standard for competence in testing and calibration laboratories. This recognition confirms our technical proficiency and commitment to generating accurate, impartial, and reliable results—reinforcing our role in advancing pharmaceutical research and quality.
Future Goal: GQCLP Accreditation as a National Reference Laboratory – JFDA
PRC-ZU is actively pursuing Good Quality Control Laboratory Practices (GQCLP) accreditation from the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), with the goal of becoming a national reference laboratory. This milestone will further align our operations with national and international regulatory frameworks and solidify our leadership in pharmaceutical quality control.
As part of Zarqa University, PRC-ZU adheres to the university’s ISO 9001 certification, reflecting a broader institutional commitment to quality management, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across academic and research domains.

Zarqa University Pharmaceutical Research Center Receives ISO Certification from the Jordan Standards
The Zarqa University Pharmaceutical Research Center has received ISO 17025 certification from the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JAS), one of the highest international accreditation standards for laboratory proficiency and laboratory testing.
This achievement confirms the center's commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and accuracy in laboratory testing, enhancing the reliability of its results and establishing it as a leading institution in pharmaceutical research and development. It opens up broad horizons for collaboration with academic and industrial institutions, and supports the expansion of pharmaceutical research in accordance with international standards.
Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, Zarqa University President, emphasized that receiving this prestigious certificate reflects the university's ongoing efforts to achieve the highest standards of quality and excellence in scientific research and pharmaceutical development. He pointed out that this accreditation is the result of the Center's tireless efforts to achieve innovation and leadership in the research field. It will also enhance the Center's ability to produce high-quality scientific research and pave the way for more fruitful partnerships with academic and industrial institutions at the local and international levels.
He added that Zarqa University continues its tireless efforts to advance scientific research, raise the level of academic performance, and support innovation, contributing to serving the community and developing the pharmaceutical sector in Jordan and abroad.
For her part, Dr. Ahlam Al-Kilani, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasized that the Center's acquisition of the ISO 17025 certification represents a qualitative step towards strengthening its position as an accredited scientific reference. She noted that this achievement reflects the Faculty and Center's commitment to the highest quality standards in scientific research, which supports the development of pharmaceutical industries locally and internationally.
Al-Kilani praised the efforts of the research team and all those involved with the Center, affirming the Center's continued efforts to achieve further successes in research and applied fields, contributing to advancing scientific development and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.
Dr. Othman Al-Tahat, Head of Zarqa University's Department of Journalism and Digital Media, delivered a lecture on "Media Legislation and Professional Ethics" on Monday 22-5-2023, as part of the Jordan News Agency's comprehensive press course for a number of public sector employees.

A profession oath ceremony was held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Zarqa University's Faculty of Pharmacy.
During the Multidisciplinary Pharmaceutical Research Conference held on June 7-8, 2023, Zarqa University's Faculty of Pharmacy won first place in the poster and presentation competition.
Many pharmacists from local and regional universities attend the conference, which aims to discuss the newest developments in pharmaceutical research.
Prof Sakina Al-Nimrawi from the Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as graduates of the Master's program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Lina Al-Shaghil, Maram Al-Hasban, and Hadeel Abu Zour, represented the university at the conference.
Lina Al-Shaghil won first place in the poster competition for the Pharmacy Department, while Maram Al-Hasban won first place in the presentations at the conference.
Dr. Ahlam Al-Kilani, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, stated that the objective of participation is to enhance applied scientific research that serves the community and establish connections with relevant entities.
